The Biden Administration agreed to fund new nuclear energy initiatives today. The Pacific Gas & Electric Co. in California will receive a $1.1 billion grant. The Diablo Canyon plant is the last nuclear power plant in the entire state of California. The plant was going to be decommissioned over 2024 and 2025, but the Senate voted to keep it running for five additional years. This is part of the $6 billion investment for the Civil Nuclear Credit that is helping to build upon nuclear energy in the US.
