St. Louis Fed President James Bullard stated that rate hikes have only had a “limited” effect on inflation thus far. Bullard, who is a voting member on the Federal Open Market Committee, said they will need to implement additionally restrictive policies to combat the problem. In fact, Bullard said 5% may be a low estimate for where rates should go, noting that they may reach 7%.
