The Dow Jones Industrial Average continued its rally, set a new record, and closed up over 150 points following strong economic data and expectations of falling rates. The S&P 500 is nearing a new record, being 1.9% away from its closing record and 2.4% from its intraday record high. The tech-heavy Nasdaq is also not far from its records. The 10-year Treasury note yield dropped below 4% for the first time since August as traders bet on rate cuts for 2024. The market’s positive performance was influenced by the Federal Reserve’s indication of a possible three rate cuts next year.
