Florida may open a new massive migrant detention facility in the Everglades that has been dubbed “Alligator Alcatraz.” Numerous Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention centers are facing overcrowding due to mass deportation efforts, and the government would be wise to seek out lower-cost temporary housing options.
The proposed location has an abandoned airport that hosts a 10,500’ long runway. The 39-square-mile facility could hold 1,000 illegal aliens until they can be processed for deportation. Miami-Dade County officers stated that they would not be concerned with fleeing, as all that surrounds the facility is the Everglades, filled with alligators and pythons. In fact, the conditions are far more dangerous than the waters of Alcatraz.
As an added a bonus, protesting near the facility will also prove challenging.
While some may believe that this is inhumane, overcrowded facilities have left many without beds or proper shelter. The government has every right to expel foreign invaders. Notice has been provided, and those who do not voluntarily depart know that they are violating US law and will face repercussions.

The Department of Homeland Security is currently developing a massive facility in Fort Bliss, Texas, that could house up to 10,000 people and will act as the prototype for future facilities based on military bases. Over 11 million people invaded the United States under Joe Biden. The costs of expelling invaders are substantial, but the cost of hosting them within US borders is far greater.
